Contact Dance
This class is for anyone interested in dancing with others in a conscious, creative way. No experience is necessary while there is also a lot for seasoned dancers to get out of this practice.
We begin by dropping into ourselves, listening to how our bodies want to move organically, and cultivating a grounded connection to our own center. From there, we gradually build toward moving with others, allowing shared movement to arise from presence rather than habit.
The practice emphasizes meeting one another where we are, through touch, shared weight, or the space between us, while staying connected to our own inner experience. Moments of ease and flow may arise and fade, and the work is in noticing, staying present, and returning to ourselves as we continue to move together. The intention is to be in curiosity, honesty, and authentic connection through movement.

Attunement is the process of bringing something into harmony, of becoming aware, responsive, and alive to what’s present.
In dance, attunement is finding authentic connection through movement. When two or more bodies are in conscious relationship, whether through physical contact or through the space between, tracking and listening, while staying connected to our own core and honest expression.
We may only touch this place for a moment before slipping into dissonance, abandoning ourselves, losing connection to our center, getting caught in our heads... etc. The practice is not to stay perfectly attuned, but to notice, return to self, and from that grounded place, find attunement again.
